Lab Director (or Principal Investigator)

Chih-Yi Chiu received the B.S. degree in information management from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1997, and the M.S. degree in computer science from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 2004.
From January 2005 to July 2009, he was with Academia Sinica as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In August 2009, he joined National Chiayi University, Taiwan, as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. His current research interests include multimedia retrieval, human-computer interaction, and digital archiving.


Lab Introduction

Our lab puts the focus on multimedia content analysis and human computer interaction. Current active directions include image/video near-duplicate detection, large-scale indexing/retrieval, and wearable VR/AR systems (cooperated with NTU imLab, Taiwan, supervised by Prof. Yi-Ping Hung).
