I-Cheng Chang

I-Cheng Chang received the B.S. degree in nuclear engineering in 1987, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering in 1991 and 1999, respectively, all from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 1999, he joined Opto-Electronics & Systems Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Hsinchu, Taiwan, as an engineer and project leader. He is currently an associate professor of Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan. His research interests include video and image processing, surveillance network system, computer vision, computer vision and multimedia system design. Dr. Chang received the Annual Best Paper Award from Journal of Information Science and Engineering in 2002, and the Research Awards from Industrial Technology Research Institute in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He is a member of the IEEE, and the IPPR of Taiwan, ROC.


Lab Introduction

In recent years, the multimedia technology is one of popular researches. It concludes many areas like text, image, video, and net communication, etc.
We concentrate our attention on 2D/3D digital image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, video processing, etc. Our main researches are showing as follows:
Image synthesizing and processing, video segmentation and editing, video processing technology for security systems, human behavior analysis and recognition, interactive 3D object construction technology, 3D surface and the penetrating material model operation, forgery image detection technology, virtual life evolution system.
