Jiro Katto
He received the Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from University of Tokyo in 1992. He then worked for NEC Corporation from 1992 to 1999. He was a visiting scholar at Princeton University, NJ, USA, from 1996 to 1997. He then joined Waseda University in 1999 as an associate professor. Since 2004, he has been a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Waseda University. He had been also a director of the Electronic and Information Technology Development Department, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), from 2004 to 2008. He had been an associate dean of the School of Fundamental Science and Engineering of Waseda University from 2008 to 2010. His research interest lies in the field of multimedia communication and multimedia signal processing.
