Lab Introduction

Multimedia Signal Processing Laboratory at the Dept. of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan, aims to develop advanced and practical solutions to various multimedia applications, including video compression, multimedia security and visual surveillance. Algorithms of rate control and efficient encoding are developed to facilitate video compression. Practical digital watermarking techniques on images and videos related to copyright protection, content authentication and fingerprinting are provided to enhance the multimedia security in different scenarios. State-of-the-art media processing for visual surveillance is presented to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. Compression-aware methods are realized to achieve the efficiency of the proposed techniques in considered applications.
