Lab Introduction

The Smart Campus Energy Lab (SCEL) is a research and education lab working on the smart grid and renewable energy integration. Current projects include building wireless sensor networks to monitor the University of Hawaii environment and building a wireless sensor network to monitor the electrical grid. Researchers are also using signal processing and machine learning to forecast renewable energy, determine optimal placement of sensors, and studying distributed estimation models.
