Lab Director (or Principal Investigator)

Dr. Masahiro Okuda received the M.E. , and Dr. Eng. in 1995, 1998, respectively from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. He was with University of California, Santa Barbara and Carnegie Mellon University as a visiting scholar in 1998 and 1999, respectively. He has been on the faculty of The University of Kitakyushu since 2001. He is currently a Professor with the faculty of Environmental Engineering, The University of Kitakyushu.
His research interests include image processing, geometry coding, and multirate signal processing and filter design.

Lab Introduction

My research group has been working on signal/image processing and visual computing. Current applications include high dynamic range imaging, multiple-frame fusion, image restoration, 3D geometry restoration and coding, optimization based image filtering and fundamental digital filter issues such as sparse filters.
