Tien-Ying Kuo received a B.S. degree from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1990 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in 1995 and 1998, respectively, all in electrical engineering.

In the summer of 1996, he worked as an intern in the Department of Speech and Image Processing, AT&T Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ. In 1999, he was the Member of Technical Staff in the Digital Video Department, Sharp Laboratories of America, Huntington Beach, CA.

Since August 2000, he has been an Assistant Professor and is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.

He received the best paper award from IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing (IIH-MSP) in 2008, and the outstanding paper award from domestic Workshop on Consumer Electronics (WCE) in 2009. He also received the awards four times (2004, 2005, 2007, 2012) for outstanding performance in M.S. thesis supervision from the Institute of Information & Computing Machinery (IICM), Taiwan, R.O.C.


Lab Introduction

The research interests of our laboratory are in the areas of digital image processing, video coding, and multimedia communication.
