Yilong Yin is a professor in School of Computer Science and Technology, Shandong University and the director of the MLA Lab . He received his Ph. D degree from Jilin University, China in 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Electronic Science and Engineering, Nanjing University, China.

MLA Lab is affiliated with the Research Center of Intelligent Information Processing, the School of Computer Science & Technology of Shandong University, China. It locates at the main building in the software campus of Shandong University.
"MLA" means "data Mining, machine Learning, and their Applications". The main research interests of MLA include machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, biometrics, and some other related areas.
