Lab Director (or Principal Investigator)

Zhiyi Yu is now a professor of school of Electronics and Information Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, China. He is also an adjunct professor of ECE department of Carnegie Mellon University. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2007. From 2007 to 2008, he was with IntellaSys Corporation, USA. From 2008 to 2014 Dr. Yu was an Associate Professor with School of Microelectronics, Fudan University, China.

His research interests include computer architecture and VLSI design. Recent projects include the many-core processors, circuit and systems for intelligent applications, and circuit and systems based on novel devices. He has published 2 books (chapters) and over 100 papers, including 3 in ISSCC and 17 in IEEE Transactions/Journals.

He serves as TPC vice chair of APSIPA SPS track, and TPC members of several conferences such as the IEEE Asian Solid-State Circuits Conference (ASSCC), Workshop on Synthesis And System Integration of Mixed Information technologies (SASIMI), and the IEEE International Conference on ASIC, etc.


Lab Introduction

The research of our group focuses on circuit and system based on emerging technologies and for emerging applications. Current research projects include novel memory system, on-chip-interconnect, non-volatile circuit & system, and algorithm, circuit and system for AI applications. We have strong collaboration with industry and academic around the world.
