The workshop is the collaboration between APSIPA and Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology Association (ECTI) which is a renowned academic organization in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Thailand.
The first talk, “Can AI Be Your Rehabilitation Coach? Learning Movement Quality from Human Motion,” was delivered by Prof. Wuttipong Kumwilaisak, APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer (2026-2027), Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand. He introduced a Spatial–Temporal Transformer to learn which body joints are important and how to use them for the assessment of home-based rehabilitation exercises.
The second talk, “Digital Technology and A.I. Applications in Biomedicine and Healthcare,” was given by Prof. Nipon Theera-Umpon, Chair of APSIPA Bangkok Chapter & APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer (2023-2024) & ECTI Board Committee (Biomedical Engineering), Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University (CMU), Chiang Mai, Thailand. His presentation covered basic concepts of digital technology and biological/artificial intelligence. The research works conducting at Computational Intelligence (C.I.) Research Laboratory, CMU, were presented including classification, detection, prediction, reconstruction, compression, etc., of many biosignals and images from different medical devices and image modalities.
